The Space
Maekstead aims to provide a space for community and learning as well as rapid prototyping and commission based making. As a workspace it offers laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC routing and other more. With space for ideation, learning workshops and social gatherings. Currently in an exploratory phase offering access on a case-by-case basis and learning experiences by appointment. The People
Dominic Morrow is the proprietor of maekstead and owner director of Smoke & Mirrors laser cutting. He has worked with LightBurn software laser cutters and CNC machinery in a support and repair capacity since 2013. Dominic has provided leadership in the makersphere since 2010 founding the Nottingham Hackspace in 2010, he produced the Derby Maker Faire from 2012 until 2018 and worked crew for Maker Faire in New York and San Francisco. He coordinates the Lunar Society collective.
